  • Owned 3 bikes and ive been a new rider since 2 years ago, never dropped a bike. I came close with my SV650s but that was while rolling in a lot at 1mph and locked the rear brake on a large stone, i had to ask my buddy to help me not lay it on the pavement

  • I had one of those when I customize I did some interesting alterations but I actually left the frame alone it was an incredibly fast motorcycle for a small displacement because it had a 6-speed transmission

  • My Honda Monkey 125 is perfect for me. 100+ miles to the gallon, gets me up to 50 ish in a full tuck. I am also nearly 6 foot 5. I've dropped it twice. Once when I put my foot down on ice at a stop sign (good and embarrassing) and once on a slippery patch in a left turn (also embarrassing). Looks like this but cuter and plastic, and my fiancée thinks I look cute on it.

  • Engine is the CB450 Superdream, I had the earlier CB450 Dream, mine was a single seat custom chopper that would pull 90mph with the custom 2 into 1 pipe, it would do 95mph with the stock 2 into 2 but took ages to slow down due to the extra weight. I also had a 1986 CMX250 Rebel which was a much cooler and good looking version of the CM250. In the UK nobody likes CM's, they are so disliked I've only seen them in scrap yards. The four cylinder CB400 is worth a fortune here, especially if it still has the stock spoked wheels.

  • I remember being on CQ while still in the army, civilian came in to deliver a pizza, told me "Hey, all your bikes are knocked over" (El Paso is very windy). What happened? Well, the asshole with the liter bike put a cover on it, and was first in the stack from the direction of the wind. He knocked over, fell into the Vstar next to it, that fell into the garage rebuilt Ducatti, that fell into the brand new Ninja 650. I called them since I knew everyone who had a bike, and they were PISSED at the dude for putting that cover on it during the windy season.

  • Man... I have 2 1/2 Kawasaki Z440 from 1984-85 in various states of disassemblement in my parents' garage. Bikes like these are so much fun to ride and tinker with. It always put a smile on my face. The side stand is connected to the clutch via a spring. You pull the clutch, the side stand flips up. So silly but so satisfying.

  • I have one of these and it’s very pedestrian to say the least. It’ll go 80 if you open the throttle all the way and hold it there but it definitely won’t coast at 80.

  • I had the cm 400 and it looked just like this. I had the same handlebars and I never saw anything wrong with them. In fact, they were the thing I liked about the motorcycle most. I guess my wrists must be different than other people's or something. It's funny but just the other day I was remembering those handlebars and was wondering to myself why they didn't make bars like that anymore because I loved them so much and now I see that some people really, really don't like them. Weird.

  • My first bike was a 1980 Cm400a, so this bike and video warms my heart. It was part of my first bike trip ever with my dad as we did a 700 mile trip in New Mexico. My profile picture is the bike, I have motovlogs with the bike... Sadly I had to sell it when a driver struck me via doing a illegal left turn. Damaged the bike decently a d broke my leg in two spots. Such an awesome bike that I will miss. The person I sold it to has had the mechanical know how to repair it and now rides it. My dad bought this for me year ls ago for $750. Thank you for reviewing this bike.

  • Question: My father has one and recently he decided to leave his biker years behind, leaving the motorbike under a tarp in the garage. I'm thinking of restoring it (bc it has some electrical issues) and maybe customising it (as a scrambler/cafe kinda thing). Do you think it's wasted time/money or not?

  • I wonder, is it just an American thing that anything over 250 is considered too much for a beginner? I live in Europe and if you're getting your unrestricted A license here, your driver's ed bike will almost certainly be a cb650, z650 or mt07. Maybe it's because you get a lot more training with your license here than you do in the US, but I never got the impression that a 450 would be too much for a beginner.

  • This takes me back to my first bike too. A 1984 Honda Shadow 500C. This bike was 8 years old when I got it. I rode it for 8 years, I sold it to a buddy who rode it for at least 2-3 years, and then he sold it to a girl, and saw her on it a couple of years later. It was a first bike for each one of us. If you can find one of these to review, it would be really nice Nothing else sounds like a Honda 500 V twin.

  • What could have been a good honest review of the CM450, and i have 2 of them and their brother the CMX 450 Rebel and a lot of 500,650 and 750 Triumphs etc, The CM450 is quite a reliable bike that i can't fault, not fast unless youre riding my modified one which is a huge difference from stock and NO , i wouldn't give it up for a harley,,, fun reliable bikes that need apologize to anyone, calling this a review is bs, this is an adolescent waste of time.

  • You being terrified of speed, engineering, performance, excitement, and design has to end. 250's are terrible first bikes unless you are the type of person who shouldnt ride in the first place. If you have no self control dont get a bike, period. Youre going to die regardless because people texting and drivng has nothing to do with a 600cc bike being relatively fast.

  • I had its sportier brother, the CB450T. Fun bike except for when it was trying to kill me. Two memorable incidents. One, the lights just going completely dead as I was flying around an uphill corner in the country side when it was pitch black outside. Two. The rear drum brake randomly locking up and skidding/swerving while I was on the highway with the 85 MPH speedo pegged. Wheel started rotating again when I hit like 50 MPH or so and I kept going to my destination with no more rear brake. Looked like someone tossed a grenade in the rear drum when I took it apart after. Oh and the third incident. The carbs clogged and it refused to run. So I had to push the fucking thing up a literal mountain. Nobody I could call because no houses around and no cell signal. Also had the throttle cables snap and had to push it home. Left the gas cap on the gas pump, rode all night, realized in the morning it was gone when the bike reeked like gas. Went to the station the next day and my gas cap was still on top of the pump where I left it. Good times. Sold the body work to a fellow in Texas who claimed he was rebuilding his 65 year old wife's bike. She had crashed it at 100 MPH and she wanted to get riding again ASAP. Crazy old fuckers lol. Was my first road bike. Good times. Learned a lot about bikes and motorcycling on that thing. I borrowed my mom's truck to pick it up and when I showed up back home with the bike she told me "I told you I don't wanna see you on a bike, but now you have it, so you better always be careful! I'm not going to your funeral!"

  • Yes, a windy day will knock over a bike with a cover (sail) on it, especially when it's on the center stand like that bike was. Put it on the kickstand and for it to get knocked over, it's gotta be lifted up over center first.

  • My first bike was a 1986 Nighthawk 450. Excellent first bike and 450cc is the perfect starting displacement if you intend to go on the highway in the USA in my opinion. Not so fast where you can't learn critical skills and not so slow that you will get run over. 0-60 on that bike was in the low 6 second range if i recall. That bike always started even when i was cruising around in the winter when it was 25F out. Fun times. I regret ever selling it.
